Sarah Nelson Wins Gold and Silver at
Southwestern Ontario Indoor Track Meet
LONDON - Sarah Nelson of the Sarnia Athletics
Southwest Track Club continued her successful indoor track and field
season this past weekend at the Southwestern Ontario Indoor Meet at
the University of Western Ontario. Nelson, the defending Canadian
19 years and under long jump champion, scored a victory in the open
women’s long jump with a best leap of 5.47 metres. She later added a
second place finish in the 60-metre sprint in 7.9 seconds to
complete her successful day. Seasonal bests where also turned in by
several other Sarnia ASW members.
Chelsey Baxter, Amanda Ayers, Jacyln Doyle, and Kassie Joy
recorded best times for the season over the 1-mile distance while
Ania Wroblewski recorded a best time for the indoor season over
800-metres.
