Alaina Fayne and Jessica Crate Win Ontario Golds!

Toronto - Members of the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track & Field Club finished their summer season off on a high note at the recent Ontario (OTFA) Track & Field Championships at York University. Leading the way for the club was Alaina Frayne who won the Juvenile girl’s javelin throw with a best toss of 38.47m. Emily King placed won the bronze medal in the same competition with a throw of 32.45m. Jessica Crate won the senior women’s 3000 metres to fine tune for the upcoming Canada Summer Games in Regina where she will compete in the 5000 and 10000m races. Additional medalists included Casey Garbaty (3rd, juvenile boy’s javelin), Matt Reddy (3rd, midget boy’s 400m), Kim VanKempan (3rd, juvenile girl’s 100m), Steve Lyons (3rd, junior men’s 5000m), Kaitlyn Hardy (3rd, midget girl’s shot put) and Keegan Castillo (3rd, juvenile girl’s 1500m steeplechase). Personal bests were also recorded by Justin Keating (4th, juvenile boy’s 100m) and Adrienne Payne (5th, midget girl’s 80m hurdles).
