The Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track and Field Club is pleased
to announce that Jillian Drouin, a St. Pat’s grad, will be
working this summer for the club in the capacity of summer track and field
coordinator and assistant coach. Drouin will be also be the
Sarnia Athletics Southwest’s Junior Development camp director. The summer camps,
which are for elementary aged athletes aged 8 to 14, will run weekdays
throughout the months of June to early August. The focus of the camps will be to
provide age-appropriate coaching to young athletes, with a focus on developing
proper track and field skills and technique.
Jillian Drouin is currently entering her
third year at Syracuse University, where she is her school record holder in the
high jump (1.81m) and heptathlon (5287 points) this spring.
Last summer, Drouin made a splash in the Canadian ranks when
she won the Canadian Junior National Championship in the heptathlon and then
went on to finish fourth in the event at the PanAm Junior
Championships.
