All-Horizon League senior Kim Hemstreet (Mooretown, ON/St. Patrick’s/Sarnia ASW) showed the way Saturday, winning the Motor City Classic in UDM’s opening cross country action of the fall.

Hemstreet outdistanced her nearest pursuer by nearly a full minute in winning the meet for the second time in three years. Her time in the 5k race was 18:35. There was no team scoring for this event, hosted by Oakland University at Bloomer Park in Rochester Hills.

“Kim is really ready to pick up where she left off last spring, where she just missed the NCAA provisional mark in the 5k,” Titans coach Guy Murray said. “She should be a contender to win every time she races.”
