Lambton recap of OFSAA 2003

            The two Senior Girls team from Lambton County came up with impressive efforts as Northern won the gold medal and St. Christopher the bronze medal in that division.  It is believed that Northern’s score of 49 points is one of the lowest in OFSAA history.  Scoring for the Vikings were Marie-Louise Asselin (6),  Claire Percival (8),  Kara Wark (13)  and Maggie Lynch (22).  Jamie Sivell was Northern’s fifth runner and finished 128 in spite of a fall early in the race.  St. Christopher  ran a solid team race to finish third with 194 points.  Scoring for the Cyclones were Lydia Willemse (42), Candace Crombeen (43), Jaclyn Doyle (48), and Carly Gill (61).  Laura Gill (69) followed closely behind her teammates.   Alyson Kohlmeier overcame a mid-race stitch to move from 70th to 10th  over the last half of the race.  There were 214 runners in this division.

            In the Senior Boys division, Lambton Central missed the bronze medal by one point as they finished 4th .  Scoring for the Lancers were Russell Christie (8), Steve Lyons (65), Jeff Allen (75) and Alex McDonald (92).  Kyle Straatman finished 119th as the non-scorer.  222 runners completed the senior boys course.

            In the Midget Girls division, Lambton Central was 14th and Northern 24th.  Scoring for the Lancers were Alicia Phillips (32), Jordan Smith (78), Venessa Van Erp (147) and Sarah Zak (179).  Denise Syer (186) was the non-scorer.  Scoring for the Vikings were Katie Sivell (116), MacKenzie Walker (122), Julia Russell (127), Christie Kohut (167).  KC McAffer (177) was the non-scorer.  North Lambton’s Callie Armitage finished 74th as an individual.  There were 213 runners in the midget girl’s division.

            In the Midget Boys division, St. Christopher’s Cason King finished 55th as an individual.  There were 224 runners complete the course.

            In the Junior Girls division, St. Clair finished 11th.  Scoring for the Colts were Courtney Workman (25),  Caitlin Rudanycz (91), Mandy Milliquet (137), and Kaytee Collins (138).  Krysta Unternaher (197) was the non-scorer.  Lambton Central’s Ashley Clubb finished 76th as an individual.  There were 228 in the division.

            In the Junior Boys division, St. Clair finished 16th.  Scoring for the Colts were Mike Poaps (32), Mike Percival (92), Josh Degroot (93) and Mason Smith (182).  Justin Trevail (198) was the non-scorer.  St. Christopher's David Moore (39) and Lambton Central's Justin Nicol (45) competed as individuals.  There were 217 runners in the division.
