Hemstreet Successfully
Defends Title With Victory At Michigan Intercollegiates

Arbor, Michigan- University of Detroit Mercy Senior,
Kim Hemstreet (Mooretown, ON/St. Patricks)
won the Michigan Intercollegiate Cross Country
Championships over a distance of 6km with a time of 22:07.
Hemstreet was 12 seconds faster then the second place
finisher and this is the second year in a row that she has
won this event. Kim continues to add to her impressive
resume this season in five events. With the win on Friday,
she has now finished first in three events and second in
the other two meets she has competed in. “Kim had a great
race,” said Detroit Mercy head coach Guy Murray.
“She was strong throughout and basically led the whole
race.”
