2002 Horizon League women’s cross country championship
Saturday in Chicago.
Hemstreet dominated the women’s race from the start. She
had set the UDM record for the conference race at 17:49
last year, when she finished, third, but beat that
Saturday. Hemstreet crossed the finish line in 17:33, a
full 17 seconds ahead of Butler runner-up Amber Gascoigne.

of Wisconsin junior Hilary Edmondson had a strong
fourth place finish at the Big Ten Cross Country
Championships. This result was the highest yet in
cross country for Edmondson in her three years at U of W.
The race was won by fellow Canadian Michelle Carson
competing for Michigan State.
