2006 Results

OTTAWA- Recently Canada’s top athletes travelled to Ottawa to compete in the 2006 Canadian Senior Track and Field Championships. Competition was very tough and among some of Canada’s past Olympians were five young athletes from the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Club. Brad Huey, Maggie Mullen, Cole Bloxam, Andy Ysebaert and Ashley Camden represented Sarnia very well in their first ever senior (20 years and over) national championship. Huey, the 2006 Canadian Junior Champion, jumped 1.95m to finish 7th in the men’s high jump. Mullen threw well in the women’s javelin to finish 8th and recorded a mark of 40.13m. In the men’s shot put Ysebaert finished 7th with a put of 14.99m, while team mate Bloxam placed 8th with a 14.11m throw. Finally, Camden finished the weekend with a 6th place in the women’s shot put, recording a distance of 13.37m. Sarnia native Hilary Stellingwerff, now living in Holland, placed 2nd in the women’s 1500 metre run with a time of 4:13.04. Congratulations to all the athletes in the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Club on a very successful outdoor season. Complete results from this meet can be found at: Results
