Club News 2004

This past weekend was a busy and successful weekend for Sarnia Athletics Southwest track and field club alumni south of the border competing in all corners of the United States in NCAA track and field action.

WEST POINT, NY– Shannon O’Hagan, a sophomore at Colgate University won the high jump at the Patriot League Championships.  O’Hagan, a St. Patrick’s alumni, won the event in 1.65 metres. She also ran legs on Colgate’s 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 metre relays that finished 6th.

O’Hagan’s performance in the high jump makes her the first female Colgate track athlete ever to qualify for the NCAA Regional meet

IOWA– Sarah Nelson won the long jump at University of Iowa’s Musco Twilight Meet in 5.74 metres. Nelson, a Northern graduate, is in her first year at the University of Minnesota. Tara Halls, a St. Clair graduate and presently a second year student-athlete at the University of Wisconsin, finished seventh in the 800 metres in a near personal best time of 2:13.52. The previous weekend, Halls won the 400 metres in 57.49 at the Loras Open in Dubuque, Iowa.

STANFORD, CALIFORNIA - Hilary Edmondson, a St. Christopher’s alumni and senior at the University of Wisconsin placed 11th in the 800 metres with a time of 2:07.21 at the highly competitive Cardinal Invitational at Cobb Track & Angell Field at Stanford University.
