8) Grade ten, I had a good
throwing arm and wanted a third sport for the school
year. Good throwing tradition at NCIVS also.
9) Participation
means many things. Fitness, both mentally and
physically. Personal growth, through success and
failure. Friendship, with a diverse group of
enthusiasts of all ages. Knowledge, there is
always more to learn. The pursuit of excellence-
the journey from potential to
realization.
10) Technically, I have
improved at times mainly because I have been able to
let go of my own concepts and listen to others.
Physically, I have
improved because I paid my dues and worked my derriere
off.
11) Career Highlights-
Winning OTFA Junior Championship 79 and two
Senior Championships twenty years
later.
- Back to back OTFA Senior
men's Championships both held in Sarnia 98, 99.(Home
crowd)
- Two Canadian Master's
Age group records M35-39 63.10m, M40-44 59.57m
- Throwing the 40-44
record to finish 8th at a very competitive Olympic
Trials in '00.
12) Future goals - at my
stage of the game, to stay HEALTHY. Train Hard - Train
Smart. Just maybe, throw farther.
-
To continue to throw as a master's athlete and still
surprise occasionally in open competitions.
-
Make friends, travel the globe and compete.
13) Plans after I
finish...........throwing: Why,....throw some more, of
course!!
Unless injury strikes me down, in which case golf will
be a whole lot easier on my body!
14) Inspirational quote:
If it was easy, anyone could do it. Prepare to excel.
See it, feel it, believe it. Then relax and trust it.
