A Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track Club First!  Hilary Edmondson and Tara Halls are NCAA All-Americans in Women’s Indoor Track and Field!!  Big congrats to Hilary and Tara for each achieving their first NCAA All-American Certificate.  Everyone here in Sarnia are very proud of your accomplishments!

Fayetteville, Ark.--The University of Wisconsin women finished seventh in the distance medley relay in 11:14.56. Hilary Edmondson (Sarnia, ON/St. Christopher’s SS) ran 1200 meters 3:25.3 to put the UW in the middle of the 14-team field after the first leg. Andrea Geurtsen ran a very good 54.7 split for 400 meters while Tara Halls (Sarnia, ON/St. Clair SS) ran 2:11.3 for 800 meters. Bethany Brewster tried to close the gap on her mile leg and almost caught Stanford for sixth place with her 4:42.9 split.

“We’re very happy about being an All-American team,” said UW women’s
coach Peter Tegen. “It’s a good step in the right direction and we hope
that continues outdoors.”

Hilary Edmondson also ran in the trials of the open mile but did not advance to the final. She finished ninth in her heat in 4:47.31.
