2003 Club News

Three more ASW athletes have accepted scholarships to schools in the United States.  Amy Kohlmeier will be going to Notre Dame.  Amy has won several OFSAA medals in both track and field and cross country while at St. Patrick's High School.  She was also a bronze and silver medallist at the 2001 Canada Summer Games.  She has represented Canada twice.  In 2001, she finished eighth in the 1500m at the World Youth Championships and in 2002, was a member of the National Junior Cross Country Team.

Sarah Nelson will be attending the University of Minnesota this fall.  Sarah recently became the first Lambton County athlete to win an event for four straight years at OFSAA as she captured her fourth medal in the long jump.  In total, Sarah accumulated an incredible 14 OFSAA  medals while competing for Northern Collegiate and was instrumental in the helping the school win the girls championship in 2003.  Sarah also had tremendous success in the Legion Program as she won national championships there in three different years.  Last summer, Sarah had the highlight of her career so far when she captured the National Junior long jump.

Jessica Crate will be going to Arizona State University this fall.  Jessica attended Northern Collegiate and was an integral part of their programs for the past four years highlighted by the girls OFSAA championship in 2003.  In her time at Northern, Jessica  several medals at OFSAA in track and field.  In 2001, Jessica finished second at the National Junior Cross Country Championships and hence, represented Canada at the 2002 World Cross Country Championships.  Jessica was also a member of the 2001 National Team at the World Youth Championships.
