    Members of the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track Club enjoyed tremendous success at the recent Ontario Legion Championships in Sudbury.  Four members came away with gold medal performances.  Aly Kohlmeier won her two events, the 17 years & under Girl's 800 metre and 1500 metre.  Kohlmeier's winning times where 2:15.91 and 4:35.76. Sarah Nelson was also victorious in the under 17 category, as she won the long jump in a personal best leap of 5.81 metres.  Nelson also added a silver medal in the triple jump (11.35m) and a 4th place finish in the 200 metres (25.69).  Mark Halls came away with the 17 & under gold medal in the 800 metres in a time of 1:58.52 and added a 4th place finish in the 1500 metre steeplechase (5:00.53).  Claire Percival was the champion over 3000 metres in the 15 & under category in a time of 10:46.46.  Percival also finished 5th in the 1500 metres in 4:59.68.  Maggie Lynch turned in a second place finish in the 17 & under 400 metre hurdles in a time of 1:05.37.  Lynch also notched a personal best time of 15.38 to finish 4th in the 100 metre hurdles.  Angela Melhuish placed third in the 17 & under high jump with a best jump of 1.55 metres.  Chelsey Baxter ran a seasonal best time of 10:54.94 in the 17 & under 3000 metres to place 4th.  Based on their performances Aly Kohlmeier, Sarah Nelson and Mark Halls all qualified for Team Ontario and will participate in the Canadian Legion Camp and Championship in Sherbrooke, Quebec.  Claire Percival will serve as an alternate for the provincial team.
