Sarnia Athletics Southwest alumni Hilary Edmondson had another breakthrough performance this past weekend in Boston, this time over 3000 metres. Hot on the heals of her #4 all-time Canadian performance in the indoor mile (4:31) the previous weekend, Edmondson finished 9th in the Reebok Boston Indoor Game’s 3000m in a huge personal best of 9:09.53 (I haven’t confirmed with Hilary or Trent yet but I suspect this is a personal best by 20 seconds). Her time will also likely qualify her for the Canadian World Cross- Country Short Course (4km) team, her first Canadian team berth as a senior athlete. This team finished 3rd as a team at last year’s World Cross-Country Championships, but this year will be without the services of their top athlete, Emile Mondor.
