Women's Track Opens Season at Home

MADISON, Wis. - Led by double winners Tara Halls, Katie Kolpin and Yael Peled, the Wisconsin women’s track team opened its indoor season by hosting the Badger Track Classic.

Freshman Tara Halls won the 400 meters in 58.52 while sophomore Katie Kolpin won the 800 meters in 2:18.21. Both were also won the winning 4 x 400-meter relay team. They joined freshman Erica Schoeller and junior Christy Muenzenberger to cross in 4:02.36.

Junior Hilary Edmondson led a 1-2-3-4 finish by Wisconsin runners in the 3000 meters with her 9:46.04 win. Senior Liz Reusser was second in 9:48.20 while junior Michelle Lilienthal was third in 9:59.09. Sophomore Linsey Blaisdell completed the sweep in 10:00.42.
