Three Lambton County athletes scored for their respective
schools at the Big East Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the
University of Akron Athletics Fieldhouse.
Leading the way for Syracuse was sophomore Jillian Drouin
(St. Pat's) with a gold medal in the high jump. The 1.75m jump was an indoor
personal best for Jillian. She also had a personal best in finishing seventh
in a tough pentathlon field with a score of 3627.
Notre Dame junior Amy Kohlmeier (St. Pat's) was fourth in
the 3000m at 9:41.09. Amy was also a member of Notre Dame's bronze medal
medley relay team.
Cincinnati senior Jocelyn Gibson (Lambton Central) was
seventh in the 800m with a personal best time of 2:12.49. This is the first
time that Cincinnati has competed in the Big East.
