ASW Coach Bob Newman has been selected by the Ontario Track and Field Association for a 3M Coaching Award for the year 2002.  This award is given annually to volunteer coaches who make an outstanding contribution to the development of athletes and to the growth of the sport in their community.

Bob recognizes the privilege he has had in the past few years in working with athletes Shannon O'Hagan, Tara Halls, Sarah Nelson, Angela Melhuish and Jillian Drouin.  Working with athletes of this stature makes coaching very enjoyable. 

In the community, Bob has helped with LSSAA cross country and track and field by doing entries and results for them.  He is also the webmaster for the very successful ASW track and field website.
