Senior Amy Kohlmeier (Sarnia, Ontario/St. Patrick's)  became the first Irish woman to provisionally qualify for this year's NCAA Championships, placing second in the 5,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 16:36.34 that also stands as the seventh-quickest time in the nation this year and the ninth-fastest in Notre Dame history. Kohlmeier added the 5,000 meters to her list of BIG EAST qualifiers, having already booked her spot at the conference meet in both the mile (personal-best 4:54.02) and 3,000 meters (9:51.13).
