2006 Club News

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced its ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District women's track and field/cross country teams Thursday (June 1), and Sarnia’s Alyson Kohlmeier of the University of Michigan was included.
 
Sophomore
Alyson Kohlmeier (Sarnia, Ontario/St. Patrick's HS) was named to the Academic All-District IV first team, which now advances her to the Academic All-America ballot.
 
To be nominated, student-athletes must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, and hold at least sophomore athletic and academic standing at their current institution.
 
Kohlmeier has had a breakthrough year in 2006, earning All-Big Ten first team honors in cross country with a second-place finish, indoor All-America honors (5,000m) and All-Big Ten first team honors with victories in the 5,000m and DMR. The Wolverine sophomore also was the top Michigan finisher in six cross country meets, winning two individual titles (Great Meadows Invitational and Spartan Invitational).
