Ontario Legion Track and Field Results

TIMMINS- This past weekend the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track and Field Club was represented by four athletes at the Ontario Legion Championships in Timmins. Over two days of competition, July 14 and 15, and as a part of the District A team, Jackson Gray, Maggie Mullen and Derek Drouin all medaled in their respective events. Gray won the boy’s under 15 Shot Put competition and received a 2^nd place finish in the under 15 Discus. Mullen topped off the girl’s under 17 Javelin throw and added a 4^th place in the Shot Put and 9^th place in the Discus. Drouin walked away with a bronze medal in the boy’s under 17 High Jump. Their local team mate, Shawn Bisson raced well in the boy’s under 15 800m to finish 7^th in the field. With these finishes, Mullen and Gray were both selected to the Provincial Team to represent Ontario at the upcoming National Legion Championships on Aug. 10‑17. The athletes will attend a week long camp in Burnaby, British Columbia, which will conclude with the national meet. Full results of the provincial meet can be found at the following site: Results
