2007 Results

A strong contingent of Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track & Field athletes ventured to our nation's capital to compete in the Ontario Track & Field Championships held in the friendly confines of Terry Fox Stadium during the Canada Day weekend.

Maggie Mullen continued her strong field performances, winning the Junior women's Javelin with a toss of 40.50m, while teammate Emily King was 5th in the event at 35.96m. Mullen also added a 6th in the Shot Put (11.59m) and 7th in the Discus (31.57m). King also placed 11th Discus (24.13m) while Tiffany Holmes placed 12th (23.46m). Holmes added a 9th place finish in the Shot Put (9.67m). Derek Drouin had another strong double, moving up in age categories this weekend to place 2nd in the Senior High Jump (2.00m) as well as 6th in the 110m hurdles (15.77s). Silver was the colour of the day as Casey Garbaty placed 2nd in the Junior men’s javelin (55.98) and Cole Bloxam was 2nd in the Senior men's shot put (13. 37m). Newcomer Steven Thompson had a strong 4th place (49.84m) in the Junior men’s javelin. Haley Cadwallader had a busy weekend on the long distance circuit placing 4th in the women’s 2000m steeplechase (7:20.12s) and 15th in the 3000m (10:45.76s).

Other Sarnia athletes competing included Justin Keating (100m/200m), Dana Hislop(200m/400m, 400m hurdles), Sarah Taylor (100m/200m), Mason Smith (200/400), Matt Reddy (400/800) and Shaun Bisson (800/1500). The team was accompanied by coaches Mark MacDonald and Joel Skinner.
