Drouin recorded 5,890 points to win her second BIG EAST title. She also won the high jump competition at the 2006 Indoor Championship. Drouin’s 5,890 points broke both the school and BIG EAST Championship records. She topped the championship record by 480 points and broke her own school mark by 603 points. Her point total also qualified her automatically for the NCAA Championship and currently stands as the second-highest score in the NCAA this year.
Drouin finished either first or second in six of the heptathlon’s seven events. In the high jump, she finished first with a school-record height of 1.84m. She topped her own school record of 1.81m, set last season at the ECAC Championship. She also finished first in the heptathlon’s long jump (6.07m) and javelin throw (41.13m) and placed second in the 100m hurdles (13.88), shot put (12.22m) and the 200m dash (24.71).
Drouin also earned all-conference accolades in the high jump as she finished second with a height of 1.78. For her efforts in the heptathlon and high jump, Jillian was named BIG EAST Most Outstanding Field Performer.
